Monday, July 6
"No Goddammit, no,no,no! Let me sleep a bit more, only a few more hours! Please!"... My words wouldnt do good since I wasn't talking to my employer or anything, it's just a cellphone alarm fulfilling its duty! Well well... What do we have today? That damned chute again?! Alright! More linen and garbage carrying! I can do that! Wait, actually I did fail to change the linen cart under the chute, and it overflowed! The whole chute was in trouble and so was I. Called Uriel for help. Looks like the person saying "Hold the linen!" gotta be only him, else it doesn't work!
Tuesday, July 7
It's been some time since the last time I wrote in this agenda, rather, diary. Anyways, 7th of July was the day I was set free, unleashed! No more Spanish-speaking trainers I say! I had been assigned to the 2nd and 3rd floors of the villas. All was great till the lunch time. Actually, I had never thought that the dirty clothes would be pilaed up that much! and that fast! Yeah, I'm talking about what I had seen as I returned from the lunch... No more long breaks pal!
Wednesday, July 8
Oh yeah! Day off! Now I can finally get some sleep! Or well... maybe not... Just remembered it was the day for the social security appointment, gotta be on the bus at 6.05am! I was almost too late, but managed to catch it in the last minute. After some hours of formal -queues- and -time wasters- I went to 7eleven and got my first banana Slurpee. It was my first transaction with my own earnings too! And... No! No I won't mention that embarrassing incident, no...
Thursday, July 9
Wow! Finally a day off I can properly sleep! I mean properly wake up late, or well... sleep not-so-properly... Gah! What's that chill! What the hell?! Am I seriously coughing or what? Oh? My joints are in pain too!? Those are pretty much all the symptoms you need for a flu, probably a certain type of flu as well... A day-off in terror... No, it's too early to think about death, haha...ha... Emergency recuperation process initiated. Eat warm stuff, drink hot water, rest properly, stretch joints, be clean, wash the casual clothes... that's all.
Friday, July 10
Oh my, not a slightest trace of flu today! And, yeah that's good! I was able to go to work and I did so. Let's see, changing places with some other houseman, and that would be... six! Yes, yes, I'm talking about the floor number. The radio I was given was entitled 7, so I would become the "lodgeman 7". Pretty cool eh? Smooth day! Or so I thought... I just remembered that I was supposed to vacuum the entire floor before leaving. Yet there were still a lot of housekeepers still on their job... I have failed to vacuum, missed the bus... Still fine by me.

Wednesday, July 1
Oh hey it's July! 3rd and last day of the training. The trainer left me alone in some rooms. 1hr and 30mins for just one checkout, oh yeah great speed! At least I did it myself! A bit more self-confidence. Getting used to my workplace. Bad weather, cool attitude... Oh and god bless my flatmate for letting me use his pc. Had the chance to mail some old friends, still gotta talk to Dave though... Wonder what I'd tell if I were to see him. Hey d! Don't get cocky as you read these lines! Not like I care about you or anything!
Thursday, July2 3
Housekeeping is no good for me... I don't want damned tips anymore! Alright, plan B! Houseperson training, here we go again! 7th floor, important guests and my trainer, Ricky! Cool guy, yeah. Placed the super suppliers, ragged the shutters and blinds, swept the concierge, mopped the ocean view thingy between 10.30-11.30pm, checked the housekeepr carts for dirty linen and garbage, swept the stairways, went to the BBQ party, saw what's inside the Yosemite Suite and also dusted there and finally vacuumed the hallways, and its done. Went back in drama room and drowned in milk. (Whoops allergies)
Friday, July 3
Hey hey hey! What the hell have I done?! I actually missed the 2nd of July... That should be because of the boredom and insanity I had that day! I was having an extended housekeeping training, which would be the 4th day of the training. And yeah, I couldn't do stuff on time and become a houseperson. Whatever! Anyways, back to 3rd of July... Should talk about evening this time... Well, it was a pretty lonely sad evening I have to admit. People were leaving for the extra events and fireworks for the Independence Day. I bet I'd turn down the invitations though...
Saturday, July 4
Hurray! It's the Independence Day! Which means, it's shopping time! And, again, broken dreams... No discounts?! Come on! I've been walking to get to the outlets and no discount as a reward for 20mins trip on foot?! Blah! Whatever... Met with friends for a few hours and now its time to sleep.
Sunday, July 5
Training again! This time the instructor is Uriel. Cool guy, though would be a lot better if he knew proper English. Not like I know proper English, but at least I do communicate! Also, the first floor and the chute really sucks! Dirty job!

Vista Way! Welcome center! Oh look it's Jill (the interviewer)! What a surprise, and good news for my companion since he could finally get his documents back, thanks to the Delta Airlines lost & found. An exciting day since it's the beginning of the duty! Chatham Square 07103 here we go!
Monday, June 22
What a boring day it was! We were told about the basics and checked-in for real. Stupid photographer took a silly photo of me for the id card. I mean, come on, this is a place of prestige, you have to treat your workers in a higher standard... Oh gosh! Ah well, leave that be. I went ahead and tried to familiarize myself with Chatham Square, where I am staying at. Met with my friends and had dinner in my flat with the flatmates. The famous prison noodle food thingy didn't turn out to be great. Ah well, at least the conversation was delightful...
Tuesday, June 23
Woke up at 8.00am. Flatmates were leaving for the pool. Made a list for shared items and gave $5 to my roommate for the items. All was great till I realized that I forgot about the documents. Came back running. Was quite late. Hope I won't do such a mistake again. After signing all the policies, we were given our traditions paper and job position, or rather, the place I'd work in. Also given the pay-cards. When the boring stuff finally ended, met up with Turkish friends and did some shopping. Oh and, sweet agony, finally socialized in my room. Not outside yet!
Wednesday, June 24
It was the day for the traditions class. We were told the keys to success and well, how to stay on top. Seems like as a leading company, Disney wants to work in a righteous manner and recruit nice and loyal people. We were shown how some big companies went bankrupt by corruption, and also, a disabled guy on breathing machine thanking Disney for welcoming him and making him forget about his disability.
Thursday, June 25
Nothing so special... Just woke up and read the program guide. Had the mp3 player next to me. Thought about the old times and the future. Contemplated relationship matters at work, such as teamwork... Also, thought about the attitude I would have towards the managers. Don't know if I can be that great... Competitive and kick-ass huh... It really hurts to feel like I'm a low-class worker compared to the other people working in more fascinating positions. Oh, and, yesterday's Aerosmith Rock'n Rollercoaster ride was really fun! Bottom line again... Gotta prepare the stuff I'm gonna need for tomorrow.
Friday, June 26
Last day in the Disney University (I hope!). Came across with a friend at the bus stop. Never thought we'd be assigned to the same class. Too bad we're working in totally different locations. Anyways, we've been taught about the fundamentals of housekeeping and it was a pretty efficient course. Before leaving, we made beds in the practice room and were able to see our outfits. I was making fun of my friend's yellow pants till I saw my own uniform. Seriously... Light green pants, dark blue striped shirts and even hangers!? Gimme a break!
Saturday, June 27
Walked around in our workplace, learned the basic locations, got instructed some safety precautions and got bored! TTC sucks! Had to wait for 2 buses! Went back to my room and slept like a log... For twelve hours! Maybe even more!
Sunday, June 28
Woke up and ate some eggrolls. Learned to do the laundry, found the garbage and unpacked the stuff I bought. Hope I'll get to see some fun in the evening! Created nightmares/dreams schedule. Went to Walmart, got myself a cool blanket.
Monday, June 29
5.45am... Can't see the sun and the day starts for me today. Wore my hanger ranger lodgekeeping uniform and went to the workplace. Had my first lodgekeepers' meeting. Met Kia, the head-trainer, and my trainer, Livis. Also met Priscilla, but haven't had the chance to talk to her. The training with mama was really hard. She kept saying "O' papi! Wat you doin'?"hahah.. This really feels weird. It is also the first time I say to myself... "I wish I knew Spanish..." Went to the pool at night and now gotta sleep.
Tuesday, June 30
Last day of June... Woke up with a weird dream. 2nd day of training... This time my trainer wasn't Livis, instead it was Devona. They are pretty alike, accent, gestures... and of course, speed. I felt a bit more discouraged about this -two months of housekeeping- thingy. Learned a bit more about housekeeping. Devona didn't have any lunch so we finished a lot earlier than usual. Talked to Mrs Kia in the cafeteria after work. She had been studying criminal justice and had to start working because of her family. "I still want to resume studying for a master's degree" eh? Sounds promising, yet a little too late.

Just remembered the glimpse of battles after each mission in Total Annihiliation. That wide feeling is so inspirational for the developers. Now, read carefully...
In the next genre strategy gaming, as the name suggests, "strategy" would be the most important part of the game. Today's games are full of hassles... Resource management... building construction... not being able to pass the defenses, extremely durable buildings... not enough battlefield sizes... Now listen again, look at the newer games, like, Dawn of War 2 and Demigod.
See what they're trying to do?
Only one building? Why? That's because nobody wants to see their buildings crumbled down and why's that? Imagine gathering an army and attacking an enemy base, but some of your buildings keep getting destroyed and you have to rebuild every one of them. That's boring!
Problem 1: Players don't want to rebuild or repair. So what.. Having one building, a single fortress... Do you think that's funny? Whoops, this time players don't have the pleasure of tearing down enemy bases, I mean buildings; only one to destroy...
Problem 2: Give the feeling of achievement without bothering them with their own losses.
A rather friendly solution would be an automated constructor / repairer team. Players would "plan" bases, queue buildings to construct, give auto repair command and rebuild what's lost without ordering the constructors. But now, we are under the threat of having a rather -artificial- gaming experience.
What's this artificial gaming experience?
It is when players feel no achievement as they obliterate their opponents' units or buildings in a strategy game. Yes, having too much automated support causes it.
But we are talking about a revolution in strategy gaming, so what can we do? One solution is to avert the attention of the player from boring stuff to the fun stuff. Now, we need a term for the wide-comfortable view, angle, feeling in the next gen's hd gaming. That was why 16:10 wide screen ratio started dominating the 4:3 standard ratio in the gaming monitors, much like what happened to home theatre televisions.
Assuming that we will have better computers/platforms in the future and also considering the fact that bestseller games use 3d to its max efficiency, we should do that too! Think of 3d glasses (and also the price reduction of the monitors that can reflect the feeling of depth even without glasses), momentum, speed, physics! Get the players the feeling that their fleet is really -flying- when crews piloting spacecrafts descend into some other planet's atmosphere. Don't be shy to make it look like an arcade game. Who cares about reality... Think of commanding your army consisting of tanks and aircrafts attacking lush mountain bases... The buildings must be gigantic, the perimeters must be grand! You have to see some of your units getting blown up to bits. Veteran units should have better AI! Shortest routes are not always the best ones. You should be able to either spectate what you ordered in a cinematic camera, or join the fight yourself! (many rts tried and failed on this trick, terribly)
Just remember, you need feelings, think of your aircrafts using shields and afterburners as they come closer to the enemy base. Even the smallest tank should look so dramatic while firing when you observe it from a closer camera. Oh yeah, no polygon should go waste.

The past is just a memory, never to happen again.
We live in present, we touch today.
We want the future to be better.
Hope works for the future, patience works for the present, pride or shame works for the past deeds.
Should we work like a slave?
Should we just be lazy and die in the place where we were born?
No, we need moderation.
We need to be able to think, decide, create...
We should be able to unite while respecting each other.
A union of smooth shapes, not sharp triangles...
